3. The Killing of Abel

Cain, first born of Adam, kills his virtuous brother Abel in an act of jealous rage. Cain is introduced cursing his plough-horses and ill-treating his gormless servant Pickharness. Abel sacrifices successfully, but Cain's sacrifice fails to burn. The murder takes place. God curses Cain, who ends the play consigned to the fires of Hell.

Performed in 2006 by Francis of Assissi Catholic Technology College.

In twenty minutes, a tragic tale of fratricide is transformed to possibly Europe's finest black comedy, where the good get slaughtered and the bad get good lines!
