23. The Burial

Friends and sympathisers of Jesus gather round the cross. They hurry to bury him before the next day - a day of rest when no one would work. Pilate releases the body to Joseph of Aramathea. A knight, Longeus, is charged to make sure Christ is really dead and then begs for mercy.

It was presented by St Michael's Church Performing Arts Workshop and Four Blokes and a Messiah.

They wrap Christ's body in a shroud and pour scented oil for protection. They put the body in a cave and cover the opening with a large stone.
