20. Dream of Pilate's Wife

Jesus is brought before Pilate who deliberates on what to do. He takes advice from his first councillor. "He calls himself a King, which he is not. Thus he will bring down our laws repute with his false boasting and his claimed truth." So Pilate decides to let Barabbas, a thief, go free, but condemns Jesus to death. Jesus is sent to be flogged by the soldiers who talk about how they are going to do it, but also about the miracles that Jesus has performed.

It was presented by Cre8 Community Theatre Company.

Pilate has a change of heart, but cannot alter the decision. He then washes his hands of the affair. The soldiers place a crown of thorns on Jesus' head and mock him saying that they have found a tree on which "He shall suffer pain and be fixed with nails three." Jesus is ordered to pick up his cross and carry it through the town.
