Welcome to the Lichfield Mysteries 2009!
Would you be an Angel?
Plans are already well underway for the production of the 2009 Lichfield Mystery Plays. It is important that we expand on our success in 2006, maintaining and building our profile in the intervening years.
The Mysteries has become the largest community theatre event in the UK - in 2006 over 500 actors and 200 crew produced 26 hours of theatre. Most importantly it is a free event; anyone who wishes to participate, can.
Over the coming months, we are hoping to maintain and develop our relationship with a diverse range of community groups across the Lichfield district; enabling them to participate with increased skills and confidence, both in the Mysteries and the wider artistic community through a range of workshops and activities.
One of the ways that you can get involved is by becoming an Angel. The support we received in 2006 from the Angels was invaluable. Funding has to come from a variety of sources and it is important that we raise funds continually throughout the three-year cycle. Your support really does make a difference. For the forthcoming cycle we are suggesting a minimum donation of £10 per annum.
Here are a few suggestions for what you could do:
- £10 will repair and repaint scenery or props
- £15 will buy a banner
- £25 will buy a new costume or lighting for Doomsday
- £100 will buy a microphone or hire Stowe Field for 1 day
As Angels you will receive:
- Copies of our newsletters
- Names in programmes/website
- Invitations to a variety of events
- Hospitality at the performance
Plus the knowledge that you are helping to keep the Lichfield Mysteries Plays not only alive but thriving and evolving.
